Designed for the student who does not have a job that relates to a specific occupational goal or college major. Under the direction of the Cooperative Education Coordinator, students focus on career awareness and the development of desirable employment habits, skills and attitudes. Each student must establish measurable learning objectives appropriate for his/her job. Students may be eligible for up to three units of credit per semester, and the course may be repeated for a maximum of six units of credit. One unit of credit may be earned for each 75 hours of paid work (approximately five hours per week) or 60 hours of volunteer work per semester. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of seven units (including the Cooperative Education course) to earn Cooperative Education credit.
