This course explores historical and current theories of dealing with clients who have both a substance abuse and co-existing psychiatric disorder. Topics include concepts, definitions, epidemiology, historical divisions in the fields of substance abuse and psychiatry, funding, clinical implications, recognition, and appropriate assessment andreferral of clients.
