A study of the physical, chemical, geological, and biological aspects of oceans with an emphasis on the methods of scientific investigation. Topics include the origin and evolution of oceans, plate tectonics, currents, waves, tides coastal processes and landforms, ocean life and ecology, and recent discoveries. Fieldtrips may be required.
