ART 103 EIGHTEENTH AND NINETEENTH CENTURY ART HISTORY

Description: Survey of the historical development of the visual arts from the 1700 to 1900, with an emphasis on the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, the industrial, political, and technological revolutions of the 19th century, and their influence on art. Focus is on Romanticism, the rise of the avant-garde, the importance of Paris as a center of art, the emergence of Impressionism, and the art of England and America. Transfer: CSU: C1, UC.
