ART 685CK AMERICAN ART FROM COLONIAL TIMES TO THE GILDED AGE

Description:This course is a survey of painting, folk art, furniture, silver, interiors and architecture from early American settlements to the beginning of the 20th century, as a reflection of the social and political developments of American history. Themes include the new nation, European influence, populism, and Manifest Destiny. RECOMMENDED: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400. Transfer: CSU.
