Units (Letter grade) 3; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture/16 by arrangement lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): MATH 120 or 121 or 123, or appropriate score on District math placement test and other measures as appropriate.

Description: This course fulfills the general education requirements in mathematics, and is designed for majors with no specific math requirement. The goal is to develop in students an appreciation for the beauty and utility of mathematics. Topics can include logic, problem solving, probability, statistics, geometry, mathematics of finance, systems of numeration, mathematical modeling, and computers. Transfer: CSU: B4, UC. (IGETC: 2)
