PHYS 210 GENERAL PHYSICS I

Units (Letter grade) 4; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture/48 lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): MATH 130 or equivalent.

Description: Covers basic concepts of physics, including the nature of physics, mechanics, elasticity and simple harmonic motion, waves and sound, fluids, heat and temperature, and the kinetic theory of gases. The course meets general education requirements and requirements for many majors in the life sciences. Transfer: CSU: B1, B3, UC*. (IGETC: 5A*, 5C)
