GEOL 101 GEOLOGY LABORATORY (C-ID GEOL 100L) (C-ID GEOL 101; both GEOL 100 and 101 must be taken)

Units (Grade Option) 1; Class Hours: 48-54 lab hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836 and ENGL 836; or ENGL 847 or ESL 400; Prerequisite(s): Completion of, or concurrent enrollment in GEOL 100.

Description: An introduction to earth materials through the identification of minerals and rocks. Interpretation of geologic processes and landforms by analyzing maps and other data. Includes the study of plate tectonics, geologic time, and surface processes such as rivers, groundwater and glaciers. Field trips may be required. Transfer: CSU: B3 (only if GEOL 100 is successfully completed prior to or concurrently with GEOL 101), UC. (IGETC: 5C*)
