Description: Explores U.S. history from pre-Columbian times to 1877. The focus is on the political, economic, social and cultural forces that have shaped the nation and the varied experiences and contributions of the diverse peoples of America. Topics covered include indigenous cultures, European colonization, the American Revolution, Constitution, American institutions, slavery and the Civil War and Reconstruction.
