HSCI 116 WOMENÂ’S HEALTH ISSUES

Units (Letter grade) 3; Class Hours: Minimum of 48 lecture hours/semester; Recommended: Eligibility for READ 836, and ENGL 836 or ESL 400, and MATH 110 or 111; Prerequisite(s): None.

Description: This course serves as an introduction to issues related to women's health. Studies include the physiology of female reproductive cycles, contraception, pregnancy and menopause, as well as the psychological and sociological impacts of these life stages on women. The affect of diet, physical fitness and disease on the physical and mental well-being of women are also considered. Transfer: CSU: E1, UC.
