MUS. 293 Audio for Visual Media

Using a wide-variety of sound productiontechniques and software tools, create a completely originalsoundtrack for film or video. Compose, orchestrate and arrange originalmusic; design original sound effects; develop a personal soundlibrary; create and record Foley and voice-overs. Make use of SMPTEand MTC to synchronize all your sound and music to picture. Analyzethe narrative, spatial and emotive content of soundtracks. Examinethe history of sound design through studying various media includingtheater, radio, film, and video games.
